RareBrew is an independent Magic: The Gathering Commander deck builder. We try to collect as little personal information as possible. This page explains what we collect, why, and who else touches your data.
This policy is written in plain language for a small, pre-launch project. It is not legal advice.
What we collect
- Account info. Your email address (and, if you sign in through a third-party provider like Google, the basic profile details they share) via Supabase authentication.
- Your content. Decks, tags, collection data, and preferences you create in the app.
- Browser storage. localStorage on your device holds your UI preferences (view modes, filters, and similar settings).
- Basic analytics. Aggregate, privacy-friendly page visit data via Vercel Analytics. We don't use third-party advertising cookies.
What we don't collect
We don't sell your data. We don't share it with advertisers. We don't use it to train AI models. We don't store payment information (there's no paid tier at this time).
How we use your data
Strictly to operate the service: keep you signed in, store your decks, sync between your devices, fix bugs, and understand aggregate usage so we can improve the product. That's it.
Who else touches your data
- Supabase — hosts authentication and the database where your decks live.
- Vercel — hosts the application and provides privacy-friendly page analytics.
- Scryfall and EDHREC — card data APIs the app queries. We don't send your account info to them; queries contain only the card or commander you're looking at.
- OAuth providers (e.g. Google) — if you choose to sign in through them. Their own privacy policies apply.
Cookies and local storage
We use cookies and similar storage for one reason: to keep you signed in (Supabase session cookie) and to remember your UI preferences (localStorage). We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Your rights
You can:
- access the data tied to your account
- export your decks
- request deletion of your account and associated data
- ask us to correct anything inaccurate

Data retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your account record and associated content from the production database. Backups may retain copies for a short period before they roll off.
Note: RareBrew is in early development. The production database may be wiped during this phase. Don't store anything you can't afford to lose.
Security
We rely on industry-standard providers (Supabase, Vercel) for data storage and transit. No service can guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.
Children's privacy
RareBrew is not directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, please contact us and we'll delete it.
International users
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own (notably wherever Supabase and Vercel host their infrastructure). By using RareBrew you consent to that transfer.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the project evolves. Material changes will be noted by updating the "Last updated" date above.
